100PLUS, Malaysia’s No.1 isotonic drink, announced a five-year agreement to be the Official Beverage Partner for the iconic Kuala Lumpur Sports City (KLSC) here today. The contract will come into effect from January 1 next year and will run through until 2022.
The historic signing ceremony between F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd, which manufactures 100PLUS, and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM), which manages the KLSC, was witnessed by YB Brig Gen Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Youth and Sports.
Also present at the function held at the National Stadium today were Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd CEO, Lim Yew Hoe and PSM CEO, Azman Fahmi Osman.
With the partnership, 100PLUS, along with other F&N beverages, will be available exclusively throughout the KLSC. Permanent 100PLUS-branded drinks booths will be set-up at the main arenas within the complex. The deal will also see the creation of a 1,400-metre long 100PLUS-themed cycling track around the National Stadium.
“This partnership marks yet another important milestone in our long-time support for sports in Malaysia. From schools and grassroots programmes to national level events, 100PLUS has enjoyed a long and proud tradition of being involved in local sports. We have also backed international events held in Malaysia. Most recently, we sponsored the Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games and Asean Para Games,” said Mr Lim Yew Hoe today.
“Through this partnership, 100PLUS will be able to ensure consumers are properly hydrated as they enjoy the multitude of events staged at the KLSC. We also have the experience and ability to provide drinks for major events like football matches which can attract over 80,000 fans. At KL2017, we were able to provide drinks to fans at all the venues.”
Apart from the KLSC deal, 100PLUS sponsors sports associations like the Football Association of Malaysia and the Badminton Association of Malaysia. 100PLUS is also the Official Isotonic drink of the Malaysian League.
National sports icons like Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei and Khairul Hafiz Jantan are among the top athletes who are currently 100PLUS Brand Ambassadors. Others include Tan Wee Kiong, Goh V Shem, Goh Liu Ying, Chan Peng Soon and Goh Jin Wei.
100PLUS is also committed to supporting youth development programmes and currently contributes to the National Football Development Programme (NFDP), Liga Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (under MSSM) and the 100PLUS Malaysian Junior Open golf tournament.Â
