A total of 7,887 tickets for men’s soccer games have been sold by the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC).
“In total, we have sold 7,887 tickets as of this afternoon to spectators of soccer games in groups A, E and F,” INASGOC ticket sales officer Tohap Martua Pakpahan said in a press conference in Bekasi on Thursday.
The tickets cost between Rp 75,000 (US$5) and Rp 250,000 apiece.
The number is based on the online sales and does not include offline sales made through Alfamart. As of Thursday, the committee was still compiling offline sales records.
“We hope the number of transactions will continue to grow,” Tohap added.
For matches at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium in Bekasi, INASGOC prepared 30,000 tickets per match in line with the stadium’s maximum capacity.
The committee has prepared free tickets for students to address low ticket sales for some matches.
Bekasi Education Agency secretary Inayatullah confirmed that 5,000 free tickets were available for students of public and private schools in Bekasi.
“The tickets are valid for all soccer matches, except for matches involving the Indonesian national team,” he said.
To distribute the tickets, Inayatullah said his bureau would cooperate with schools and the Office of the Technical Service Implementation Unit (UPTD) in all subdistricts.
