China retained all 10 Asian Games diving gold medals it won four years ago after easily grabbing the two remaining titles on the last day of competition on Friday.
Qiu Bo won the men’s 10m platform with 576 points, 49.45 ahead of second-placed team-mate Yang Jian. Woo Ha-Ram of South Korea picked up the bronze.
Hi Zi bagged the women’s 3m springboard event with 374.45 points. Compatriot Wang Han came second and Malaysia’s Cheong Jun-Hoong was third.
Qiu said he was happy to win despite admitting he made mistakes.
“My form was not very good leading into the Asian Games, so I was a bit worried,” he said. “That is why some mistakes came up, but I had a good result in the end.”
He Zi, who dominated the women’s springboard, said the performance was below her own expectations.
“There are still some things I need to improve upon,” she said. “I must try harder at training. Pressure does not bother me because I just concentrate on my performance.” – Agence France-Presse
