Sepang International Circuit (SIC), promoter and organiser of the 2014 Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, today announced that tickets for the Main Grandstand North are sold out. This is the second major section after the popular Grandstand F to have all the available tickets snapped up.
This shows an exciting acceleration of sales, as while the Main Grandstand North was also sold out last year, the final tickets were only sold out on race week itself.
“The last of the Main Grandstand North tickets were purchased this morning. Whatâs interesting is that tickets to this section have sold out two weeks earlier compared to the previous year,â commented Sepang International Circuit CEO DatoâRazlanRazali today.
âI believe fans realise this yearâs race will be an awesome one. With the worldâs best like Marc Marquez and DaniPedrosa gunning for glory and six Malaysian riders on the grid, there is no doubt it will be a race not to be missed,â he added.
While the Main Grandstand North and Grandstand F tickets are no longer available, fans still have several other Grandstand ticket options to consider. This includes the Main Grandstand South and the Grandstand K1.
The view of the race from the Main Grandstand South is great as fans will be able to watch a significant portion of the race, from Turns 9 through to 15. The Main Grandstand South tickets, priced at RM160, are also selling fast.
Another splendid position to watch the race will be from Grandstand K1, which comes with the VR46 package. Tickets to this section are priced at RM160 and spectators will also receive a Valentino Rossi autographed cap and flag.
Meanwhile, tickets for Hillstand C are also still available, starting from only RM40.
âIf youâre a motorcycle racing fan, I would advise you to secure your tickets as soon as possibleto avoid disappointment,â Razlan said.
He added that fans should take advantage of the Maybank promotion which offers a RM30 discount for every ticket. This promotion ends on 19 October 2014.
This year, SIC is once again looking at another record attendance, especially with the event promoted as part of the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year Calendar. Last year, over 126,000 fans packed the circuit over three days.
The excitement level for this yearâs Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will intensify after the Japan Grand Prix this weekend and the Australian Grand Prix the following week as riders push furiously for points. The Malaysian leg could well be the decider for some of them.
For the Malaysian riders â four in Moto3 and two in Moto2 â they too will be going flat out to deliver their best in front of the home fans. Local hero, racing star ZulfahmiKhairuddin (OngettaAirasia), AmirulHafiqAzmi (Team SIC-Ajo), RamdanRosli (Petronas AHM Malaysia) and HafizaRofa (Team SIC-Ajo) will compete in Moto3 while HafizhSyahrin Abdullah (Team PetronasRaceline Malaysia) and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman(Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) will participate in Moto2.
Another interesting piece of news for local racing fans is that they will be able to catch Malaysiaâs future stars in action in the supporting race. Seven of our brightest talents will be competing against leading Southeast Asian and Asian youngsters, including several Japanese riders, in the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup.
Local fans will also have the opportunity to watch support races in the thrilling MSS Bikes championship.
Meanwhile, SIC, in the run-up to the race later this month, has initiated a series of exciting activities in Malaysia and the region. In addition to their advertising campaign through the print, electronic and social media, an online bike contest and several on-ground activities have also been organised. This includes the popular SIC Zoomers which has groups of bikers visiting popular spots to promote the race, a contest, bike convoys led by DatoâRazlan himself, viewing parties and several others, including special ticket prices open to those who make purchases at the venue.
During race week, fans will get to experience the pit lane walk, autograph sessions, and the ever popular shopping experience at the Mega MotoCarnival, stunt shows and plenty more.
The South East Asian Motorcycle Business Forum will also be held on the sidelines of the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix once again this year.
