Indonesiaās premier golf tournament, the CIMB NiagaĀ Indonesian Masters Presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf, todayĀ announced a series of initiatives to ensure a trulyĀ memorable showpiece when the Asian Tour eventĀ returns to the Royale Jakarta Golf Club from April 23 āĀ 26.
Former world number one LeeĀ Westwood of England and Denmarkās Thomas Bjorn are sure toĀ provide ample entertainment inside the ropes, while newĀ developments away from the fairways are set to ensure thatĀ the tournamentās fifth editionĀ is as well remembered off-course, as it is on.
Enjoy Jakarta, the capitalĀ cityās official tourism authority, will join theĀ prestigious event as the Presenting Sponsor, bringing aĀ distinctly local flavour to the four-day tournament.Ā
As visitors walk through the gates, theyĀ can expect to be greeted by the presence of Abang &Ā None Jakarta (Mr. & Miss Jakarta) who will be onsite toĀ champion the nationās capital city.
And in what is fast becomingĀ a tournament tradition, the newly crowned champion will onceĀ again be presented with his very own Tenun Ikat motifĀ jacket. While the inspiration behind the idea might comeĀ from the Masters TournamentĀ in Augusta, observers at the 2015 edition can expect to seeĀ something a little closer to home.
The 2015 jacket will beĀ created by renowned Indonesian designer, Didiet Maulana. TheĀ creative director from IKAT Indonesia, famous for hisĀ contemporary, locally inspired designs, will create his ownĀ version of the āGreen JacketāĀ which will have an authentic Indonesian style.
With the countdown of theĀ tournament well under-way, leading Indonesian golfer GeorgeĀ Gandranata lauded the new announcements. Speaking about theĀ importance of the tournament in building IndonesiaāsĀ fledgling golf industry andĀ putting the country on the world map of golf, GandranataĀ said:

Sanctioned by the Asian TourĀ and the PGA Tour of Indonesia, the CIMB Niaga IndonesianĀ Masters Presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf will feature 24Ā Indonesian golfers, 20 professionals from the PGA Tour ofĀ Indonesia and four of IndonesiaāsĀ top amateurs who will compete in the 150 player field overĀ 72 holes of individual stroke play.
