* At cross roads over Edward Junior Wilson
* He needs to show more commitment
Felda United coach is in a dilemma over his under-performing Liberian striker Edward Junior Wilson who made all the difference to the team in their come-from-behind 3-2 win over Police in Saturday’s Super League match at the Selayang Stadium – a win which took The Fighters to second in the table while Police went plummeting from top spot to fifth place.
“He will need to show me more commitment in our cause to remain in the team,” said Irfan who is seriously considering replacing the hitman during the April transfer window.
“I am not happy with his performance so far this season…but then at the same time he has been getting vital goals for us. I am in a dilemma. I am at the cross roads after seeing how he came on rescued us from the brink of defeat with one assist and one goal when we heading to defeat.”
Wilson is Felda’s top scorer with five goals and his snatched the winner against Police deep into injury time after setting up Australian Ndumba Makeche for the equaliser which rattled Police who were leading 2-1 till the 86th minute.
Felda United’s next two matches are against “big guns” Terengganu this Saturday at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu before facing Pahang at home at the Selayang Stadium on April 25.
“The two matches are crucial for us and also for Wilson. I want him to show that he is real committed player who can win matches for the team. Frankly, I am at the cross roads over Wilson but I am giving him and myself some time to decide.”
On Felda United’s win over Police, Irfan said the players showed tremendous fighting spirit till the end.
“The match was played in rain and many said it was ‘rahmat’ (blessing) but then we it was also raining when we lost 4-1 to Perak in Ipoh.(April 4),” added Irfan who took Felda United to promotion after finishing runners-up to Police in last year’s Premier League. Felda United also reached created history by reaching FA Cup final last year but lost to Pahang 2-1 to finish runners-up.
