There was gold for Malaysia yet again in the pool in the 28th SEA Games in Singapore  – with a two gold haul in the in the women’s 3m springboard individual and in the men’s 10m synchronised platform at the OCBC Aquatics Centre.

The Malaysians swept to a 1-2 finish in the 3m springboard which saw Cheong Lun Hoong retain her gold medal with 349 .65 points – ahead of teammate Wendy Ng Yan Yee who took the silver with 309.20 points. The bronze went to host nation Singapore’s Fong Kay Yian who garnered 258.90 points.

The second gold from the OCBC Aquatics Centre came through Ooi Tze Liang-Chew Yiwei in the men’s 10m synchronised platform who were just too good for their rivals and came out tops with 404.37 points with Indonesians Andriyan Andriyan-Putra Adityo Restu a distant second with 355.11 points for a the silver.

The Thai pair of Siriboon Theerapat-Juntaphadawan Yolsaw settled for the bronze with a 316.77 points.

It was Malaysia’s third gold in Singapore after Katrina Ann Hadi-Zylene Lee won the first in the duet technical and free routine event.
