The Singapore SEA Games men’s singles and women’s doubles final will be an all-Malaysian affair tomorrow morning. While two golds are guaranteed, the Malaysians could make it a memorable day tomorrow, the last day of the SEA Games, if they go on to claim the mixed doubles gold.

In the men’s singles semi-final match-ups today, Chong Wei Feng defeated Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk 13-21, 21-18, 21-15 while compatriot Mohd Arif Ab Latif cruised past Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 22-20, 21-15 to ensure an all-Malaysia final battle.

It was the same story in the women’s dooubles when Defending champions Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei and Amelia Alicia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho both made it past their semifinal matches to secure a second gold for malaysia.

Vivian-Khe Wei defeated Anggia Shitta Awanda/Ni Ketut Mahadewi 21-12, 21-11 while teamates Amelia and Fie Cho made it past IndonesiansSuci Rizki Andini-Maretha Dea  21-16, 23-21.

Meanwhile, Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying had a jitterey semifinal tie today but eventually defeated Widianto-Dili 21-18, 18-21, 22-20. They will face another Indonesian pair, Praveen Jordan-Debby Susanto from Indonesia, in the final. 

Amelia said that they were looking forward to meeting their teammates who are the topseeds here. “This is our first SEA Games and it’s great to be in the final,” Amelia said.
