adidas Brands New Characteristics on the Field – Destroy and Control
adidas, the leading brand in football, has launched its newest football boots range – theX15 and ACE15 under the adidas Destroy vs Control Football Campaign. In conjunction with the campaign launch, adidas has organised a series of 2V2 football tournaments across the globe to define and display a whole new set of rules. Old traits, positions, and outdated attributes that mattered before are irrelevant now, as adidas brings forward the future of football.
To kick-start the recruitment phase for the adidas 2V2 tournament in Malaysia, adidas rolls out the Destroy vs Control activation video featuring renowned footballers in South East Asia: Roen Cian Nagapan (Malaysia), Raphael Maitimo (Indonesia), Mika Chunuonsee (Thailand), and Anthony Ampaipitakwong (Thailand), who demonstrate qualities of Destroy and Control while debuting the new adidas X15 and ACE15 football boots.
Destroy vs Control: Game Day
adidas has defined two types of players on the field – those who cause chaos and those who control everything: the game changers and the playmakers. For the first time, these two distinct types of players will each have their own boots, theadidas X15 and ACE15. To celebrate this football revolution, adidas launched a series of 2V2 tournaments across main cities in South East Asia, namely Bangkok, Thailand; Jakarta, Indonesia and now, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The gameplay format consists of two periods of three minutes each and it is played between two teams of two players each. The teams battle it out on a half-sized futsal court with zero goalkeepers. The main objective was not only to win the game by scoring most goals, but to gain points from a panel of influential football experts. Points are based on the player’s creative moves, flair for the game, as well as entertainment factor on the pitch.
The Malaysian judging panel consists of award-winning football freestyler Hoai-Nam Nguyen @ Nam the Man, football analyst Abbas Saad, local footballer/social influencer Roen Cian Nagapan, and football pundit Ross Yusof. The last two teams battled it out in the finals; and the team awarded with the highest points from the judges will have a once-in-a-lifetime football experience to Europe – where football is the centre of it all.
“Through the adidas Destroy vs Control football campaign and tournament, we intend to identify football grassroots to encourage and cultivate talents around Malaysia. Our goal is to spot local talented and skilful players to build a new army of professional footballers equivalent to international standards,” said Max An, Country Manager of adidas Malaysia. “We believe that young players should be shaped in the most conducive environment to foster growth and keep them focused on improving their game. We are providing a platform to encourage undiscovered talents to gain confidence and support from adidas in order to be the crème of the crop.”

Recently adidas has discontinued their previous silos, namely the F50, Predator, 11pro and Nitrocharge to make room for the new Destroy and Control football boots range – the adidas X15 and ACE15.
