It was Chong Wei’s fourth straight final loss in the world championships.
“It was my dream to win (the world title) but I failed. I will not give up because of this latest loss. I am determined to continue playing and take my fight to the Rio Olympics next.
“I will concenrate on Rio now. I will speak to my coaches when I get back to see what needs to be done.
He said that despite the defeat in the final, he feels that the world championship was important as it helped him regain his confidence.”
Asked if he will consider playing in the next world championships in 2017, Chone Wei had this to say: “I can’t comment about what I will do after the Olympics. If my condition is still good then I may continue, otherwise, I will not. I can’t confirm anything at this stage.”
