# Jagdish-Roni Tan win men’s doubles
# Zulfadli falls to Vietnam’s Nguyen Tien Min for singles crown
It was a day of mixed fortunes for Malaysian independent players in the USD15,000 Sydney International finals in Sydney on Saturday.
Privateers Jagdish Singh-Roni Tan Wee Long had plenty to smile when they nailed the men’s doubles title with a come-from0behind 13-21, 21-17, 21-11 win over Taiwanese pair Liu Wei Chen-Han Yang Po in 51 minutes.
However, in the men’s singles top seed Zulfadli Zulkifli once again fell by the wayside when he could not match the experience of Vietnam’s veterann shuttler Nguyen Tien Minh.
The second seeded Tien Minh took only 32 minutes for his win over the former world and Asian junior champion for his 21-11, 21-12 win.
In the semi-finals on Friday, Tien Minh had defeated Zulfadli’s brother Zulhelmi with a 21-13, 21-17 while Zulfadli defeated Belgium’s third seed Yuhan Tan 21-11, 21-16.
