Khairul Idham Pawi rounded off his first Moto3 World Championship outing on a positive note as the Honda Team Asia rider finished the race 25th at the Aragon Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Asia Dream Cup Champion who started 34th on the grid completed the 20-lap race in  40’42.288s, improving by nine positions after battling Ana Carasso for most parts.

Miguel Oliveira won the race flanked by Jorge Navarro and Romano Fenati.

Despite finishing outside the points, the 17-year old hails the Aragon Grand Prix as an eye opening experience.

“The race was so difficult. In the first lap I tried to follow the front but it was really tough and while battling with Ana, the front runners opened up a huge gap. Nevertheless, I am pleased with today’s outcome and I believe this experience helps point me in the right direction especially for the next Moto3  Junior World Championship race in Navarra. Thank you Honda and Boon Siew Honda for giving me the opportunity to compete as a wildcard this weekend,” said Khairul.

The budding Malaysian rider is currently ranked fourth overall in the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship after finishing on the podium three times.
