Over 160 tennis players participated in the just concluded KKLTA President Team Doubles tournament held on 14-15 Nov 2015.
The 16 teams that took part in the tournament mostly are from KK. There are also teams from as far as  Ranau, Kudat, Keningau and Papar. This augurs well for tennis as teams from outside KK are willing to travel to compete and play tennis.
It was great to see players from all age group and various standard took part. Some teams also have father & daughter, husband & wife playing together.
 The teams were divided into 4 groups of 4 and played round robin matches. The top 2 from each group then proceeded to the knock-out stage.
 The categories contested were men’s doubles, men veteran doubles and mixed doubles.
KK LTA Trainees team put up mostly junior player to compete, while TC Tennis put up two teams with junior players.
All seeded teams made it to the semifinals as predicted. Top seeded team, KK Frenz beat Team Moringa 2-1 and Team Banditz beat Dynamites by same scoreline.
In the final KK Frenz emerged as the champion after beating Team Banditz  2-1.
Prize monies were awarded to the champion RM 600,  runners up  RM 400, and semifinalists RM 250 each.Â
This is the 2nd year of the tournament and  is a huge success and will remain as a regular in the coming year calendar according to KKLTA President Ghani Affandi in his welcoming address.
During the prize presentation award Sabah Tennis president Johnson Koh told the crowd that tennis is improving not only in the junior level but also in the meddle and senior group level. When parents play tennis their kids will definitely follow and this is good for tennis.
The game of tennis requires a healthy body, mind and discipline. This will definitely keep undesirable elements away from kids and parents as well. Â
