Hadiah kemenangan buat Zamri
Gelaran juara keseluruhan yang diraih selepas memenangi pPerlumbaan 1 masih tidak cukup buat Yuki Takahashi apabila pelumba itu sekali lagi mendominasi dengan memenangi Perlumbaan 2 SuperSports 600cc Kejuaraan Motosikal Asia FIM (ARRC) yang berlangsung di Litar Antarabangsa Chang, Buriram, Thailand, hari ini.
Perlumbaan akhir sebanyak 16 pusingan meyaksikan pertarungan sengit diantara lima pelumba, Decha Kraisart (Yamaha Thailand Racing), Ahmad Yudhistira (Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki) and Tomoyoshi Koyama (T.Pro Yuzy Honda NTS) namun menyaksikan pelumba Musashi Boon Siew Honda Racing itu selesa menamatkan perlumbaan dengan masa keseluruhan 26’42.098s.
Yudhistira yang dilihat mampu menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat kedua bagaimanapun terjatuh pada selekoh terakhir dan menyaksikan Decha menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat kedua.
Kemenangan pelumba itu bagaimanapun dibatalkan akibat melanggar peraturan teknikal perlumbaan dan menyaksikan Koyama naik ke tangga kedua dan tangga ketiga milik pelumba wildcard yang juga merupakan pelumba Moto2, Thitipong Warokorn (AP Honda Racing Thailand).
Pelumba yang bakal menyambut kelahiran bayi pertamanya itu menjelaskan, “Perlumbaan hari ini tidak banyak berbeza dengan perlumbaan pertama semalam. Perlumbaan agak sukar pada peringkat permulaan dan terpaksa bersaing dengan jentera Yamaha dan Kawasaki namun selepas beberapa pusingan, saya mula mendapat rentak dan berjaya menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat pertama buat kali kedua minggu ini,” jelasnya.
Tambah pelumba itu, “Saya berterima kasih kepada seluruh pasukan yang telah bekerja keras sepanjang musim ini. Lebih penting, saya hadiahkan kemenangan ini kepada rakan sepasukan, Mohd Zamri Baba.”
Koyama yang menamatkan perlumbaan di tangga kedua menamatkan saingan musim 2015 di tangga kedua keseluruhan dengan 164 mata manakala Yudhistira di tangga ketiga dengan 139 mata.
Dalam saingan Asia Production 250cc, Takehiro Yamamoto (Trickstar Racing) sekali lagi menamatkan saingan di tempat kedua sambil menyaksikan pertembungan lebih terarah kepada dua rakan sepasukan, AP Honda Racing Thailand, Apiwat Wongthananon dan Nakarin Atiratphuvapatyang bersaing merebut kedudukan kedua dan keseluruhan.
Tuah memihak kepada Nakarin apabila pelumba itu sekali lagi muncul juara dengan masa 19:52.641s diikuti Vorapong Malahuan di tempat ketiga.
Malang bagi Apiwat yang menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat keempat apabila dia di tolak dua kedudukan setelah dikenakan penalti melebihi laluan litar dan menyaksikan pelumba Malaysia, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin (Yamaha Finson Racing) naik ke tangga keempat.
Sementara itu saingan Underbone 130cc menjadi milik duo Faito Factory Racing, Anggi Permana Putera dan Wahyu Aji Trilaksana. Anggi berjaya menamatkan perlumbaan dengan masa 17’22.454s, 0.499s di hadapan Wahyu manakala pelumba Malaysia, Mohd Affendi Rosli (PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha) mengakhiri musim 2015 di atas podium dengan meraih tempat ketiga.
Gupita Kresna Wardhana (Manual Tech KYT Rextor) yang gagal menamatkan perlumbaan selesa di tangga teratas keseluruhan dengan 204 mata diikuti pelumba Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing di tangga kedua, 130 mata dan Ferlando Herdian (BKMS Indonesia Racing Team) ketiga, 129 mata.

YUKI TAKAHASHI MAKES IT A DOUBLE AS TOMOYOSHI KOYAMA MAKES IT A JAPANESE 1 – 2 AT SEASON FINALE
After flying off to a dominant win in Saturday’s first race en route to claiming the overall SuperSports 600cc title, the second and final race in the Asia Road Racing Championship was once again a Yuki Takahashi affair as the Musashi Boon Siew Honda racing team rider notched up another race victory for his seventh consecutive race win of the season. The result brings his total of wins to eight from the 12 races contested this season.
The 16-lap race itself proved to be a tantalising affair with Yuki, Decha Kraisart (Yamaha Thailand Racing), Ahmad Yudhistira (Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki) and Tomoyoshi Koyama (T.Pro Yuzy Honda NTS) all getting off to a good start quickly distancing themselves to the rest of the field. Evenly matched in terms of their pace, the fight for lead between the quartet quickly intensified with the lead constantly changing hands.
After five laps however, Yuki managed to increase his pace at the front slowly pulling away from the rest. The Japanese would also get further help when the fight for second between Decha, Tomoyoshi and Yudhistira took their focus away from him, allowing him to gallop away in the front. Yuki went on to claim the race victory after creating an unassailable gap of almost six seconds over the rest of the field.
The happy expectant father who starts his preparation for the 2016 campaign almost immediately after discusses his victory noting, “compared to the first race yesterday, today’s race was really good and very difficult. In the first part of the race, I had a good fight with the Yamaha’s and Kawasaki as they were both very strong. After lap five I was able to find the rhythm and managed to get away from the group. I am really happy with this result today and winning the overall champion title, for myself and for the Musashi Boon Siew Honda team. My thanks to the crew for an amazing season! Most importantly though, I want to dedicate this result to my teammate and friend Zamri Baba.”
Finishing the race in a surprise second place following a nail-biting four-way fight with Tomoyoshi, Yudhistira and Anucha Nakcharoensri (Yamaha Thailand Racing) was former SuperSports 600cc champion and this season’s wildcard rider, Decha Kraisart (Yamaha Thailand Racing) who triumphed over his compatriot. However, a post-race stewards inquiry saw the Thai duo of Decha and Anucha both disqualified, despite originally finishing second and third in the race.
In the race for the runners-up position in the overall riders’ championship, the fight had been between Tomoyoshi and Yudhistira as the two primary contenders. For the Indonesian, a stellar ride did not yield the expected results when a costly mistake on the difficult final corner on the final lap saw him lose the front of his Kawasaki on the exit of the final corner as he crashed. That allowed Tomoyoshi to finish ahead of the Indonesia, gifting the silver medal position to the Japanese, which was further solidified with a solid 20 points haul instead of the original 13 points following the post-race amended results.
Despite losing the fight for the runners-up position to the Japanese, Kawasaki’s Yudhistira still ends an impressive SuperSports 600cc campaign in the bronze medal position having amassed a total of 139 points.
Similarly in the Asia Production 250cc category, with the championship already awarded to Takehiro Yamamoto (Trickstar Racing) on Saturday, Sunday’s second race at the season finale of the championship was all about the battle of the two AP Honda teammates, Apiwat Wongthananon and Nakarin Atiratphuvapat for the title of championship runner-up.
In what lived up to the promise of an exciting race, the honours would belong to Nakarin with a hard-fought race victory after a bruising battle throughout the 10-lap race, denying the win from newly crowned overall champion Takehiro, with the Japanese eventually finishing second, ahead of Peerapong Loiboonpeng (Yamaha Thailand Racing) who just edged Apiwat out of podium contention.
However, a post-race investigation saw both Peerapong and Apiwat who had originally finished third and fourth places in the race, penalised for exceeding track limit. Losing two positions each, the amended results promoted Vorapong and Malaysian youngster Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin (Yamaha Finson Racing) into third and fourth places, respectively.
Likewise with the fight for the overall title in the Underbone 130cc already concluded with Indonesian Gupita Kresna Wardhana (Manual Tech KYT Rextor) successfully defending his crown, the attention was on the battle for the runners-up position. Though he would suffer an unfortunate mechanical issue forcing a premature end to his race, it did little to dampen his celebrations.
The top honours on the day go to Faito Factory Racing’s Anggi Permana Putera who bagged his first race win of the season ahead of his teammate Wahyu Aji Trilaksana, making it a memorable double for the team. Finishing in third place after an intense eight-lap final CP130 final race of the season was Malaysian Md Affendi Rosli (PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha), rounding off what had been a difficult weekend on a positive.
Meanwhile, With only a single point between Indonesian Ferlando Herdian (BKMS Indonesia Racing Team) and Malaysian Norizman Ismail (Harian Metro Y Teq SCK Honda) in the fight for the runners up position in the category, the final race at the final round would be the decider. But, drama was never far when a mechanical issue forced a premature end to Ferlando’s race in the first lap, gifting Norizman the opportunity to secure his second overall position in the riders’ championship, provided the Malaysian finished in the points. And that would indeed be the case when the Malaysian crossed the line in 15th for a solitary point, which would be enough for Norizman.
In the Asia Dream Cup category, Thailand’s female rider Muklada Sarapuech made history on Sunday as she became the first female rider to take home the overall title in the category beating out Japanese Hiroki Nakamura for the crown. In the Suzuki Asian Challenge, the top honours went to Indonesia’s Andreas Gunawan.
