Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) outstanding performance last season has earned a RM50 million contribution from the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
According to the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook, apart from JDT’s splendid results and performance last season, the Sultan of Johor was also happy to note that football had played an important role in uniting the people of Johor and raising the status of the state globally.
Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim who is the Royal Patron of JDT in welcoming the contribution expressed his gratitude for the contribution from the Sultan of Johor who is also his father.
Last season, JDT won the Sultan Ahmad Shah (Charity Shield), Super League as well as create local football history by winning the AFC Cup for the first time.
The success saw JDT sweep 17 awards at the National Football Awards 2015, last month. –BERNAMA
