Danny Chia
Quick Quotes
DANNY CHIA: It’s a great feeling. Getting to the team by merit is a wonderful feeling. Had a great year last year. Can’t ask for anything more.
Q. Is there an excitement in playing a team event, something different to what you would normally be doing?
DANNY CHIA: I didn’t feel it that much right now. Probably the excitement will kick in tomorrow, maybe when the matches start, yeah.
Q. Presumably there’s a different feeling about it. I know you’re normally doing all your own individual preparations, but here, being part of a bigger setup?
DANNY CHIA: I think it is a bit different. That’s why this week, we spend a lot of time together with our teammates. We have dinner almost every night together to try to get closer to each other to have some kind of a chemistry when we get to partner with each other. I think that works out pretty well. Spending a lot of time talking about the game plan and watch quite closely about his game during the practise rounds, as well.
Q. Clearly these are early stages, but how is Jeev as a captain?
DANNY CHIA: I think he’s great. He’s been very fantastic since Monday when I was here. I’ve been looked after really well. Make sure whatever we need, he gets it for us. No complaints about that, yeah.
Q. Given that you’re playing here in Kuala Lumpur, is there an onus on you? Are you feeling any different kind of pressure on yourself to actually perform well?
DANNY CHIA: Always do. But I think it’s a very positive pressure on me that drives me to want to do well and trying really hard to game plan for the team. Yeah, it will be a great week.

Anirban Lahiri
Quick Quotes
- Your thoughts on the pairings tomorrow?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I’m really looking forward to it. I think it’s an honor to be going out first for the Asian Team. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m playing with Wang. I really think he’s a big talent and he’s probably at a similar stage to where I was two years back. I’m just going to try to help him just play freely. Really looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a good match starting up and I’m going to try to get our team off to a good start.Q. Really important to get the first point?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: Absolutely. I think it’s going to be critical that we get off to a good start, and just go out there and be aggressive.Tomorrowis fourball, so we can both play our natural game, which is to make a lot of birdies. This week, we are all one team and the camaraderie is fantastic. You can hear it in the background. Going into Friday, this is what we need. We are all relaxed and we are all focused.

Nicholas Fung
Quick Quotes
- You’re playing with your mentor, what do you think?
NICHOLAS FUNG: Yeah, it’s good to put me on the third match and playing with Victor and Søren. I know Victor. We have a good match because Danny hits long, yeah.Q. How do you think you complement each other’s games?
NICHOLAS FUNG: Actually, it’s good for us to partner together because we know each other’s games, we know each other’s mistakes. So as I say, he’s my mentor, so whenever I have low confidence, he always will be there to guide me how to play.Q. It’s sort of no surprises?
NICHOLAS FUNG: No surprise.Q. You’ve played before in the EurAsia Cup, this is your second time. How much of the experience do you think will help new tomorrow’s first match?
NICHOLAS FUNG: Yeah, for the fourball, we play our own game, so I think we just need to get as much birdies as we can.So I talk to Danny, if we can play 13 birdie, definitely we can win, 13 birdies for both of us. Cannot be more than 13 birdies, so if they can play more than 13 birdies, means they win. It’s not easy. Some of the greens, it’s not easy to make birdie, so me and Danny got a home advantage, so we know the greens better than them.
That’s why we’re planning to just try to hit more on the greens first. We don’t need to hit long from the tee. Make sure to putt the ball on the fairway because the green is firm. Try to hit on the green all the time because we know the greens well. Doesn’t matter, we hit the ball 20 feet, 30 feet, we can make the putt.
