Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny was the star of the show as the Lions held Bahrain while Myanmar fell 1-0 at home to India last night.
Singapore, alongside Turkmenistan and Chinese Taipei in Group E, last qualified for the AFC Asian Cup in 1984.
In the meantime, Myanmar’s confidence suffered a knock when Sunil Chhetri struck the only goal of the game in the 90th to give India the win.
Despite dominating proceedings at the Thuwunna Stadium and striker Kyaw Ko Ko in fine form, the home team just could not put the ball into the net.
