Melaka, Johor and Kuala Lumpur won four titles each in the 100PLUS National Junior Circuit Zone C finals which ended at the Dewan Badminton Gan Hong Hoe in Melaka on Sunday.
 
Over at the Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu hosts Sabah and Penang were the big winners with six titles each in Zone A.
 
Penang, a known badminton powerhouse at all levels in the country, clinched the Boys’ Under-16 singles through unseeded Samuel Lee, the Boys’ Under-12 singles (V. Tamilarasukumar) and the Under-12 Boys’ doubles (Tamilarasukumar-Koay Boon Chuan).
 
The Penang also walked away with the Under-16 doubles (Ho Lo Ee-Tan Zhing Yi) and the Under-12 singles (Tan Zhing Hui) and doubles (Hazel Chang Shu Ning-Tan Zhing Hui) in the girls’ category.
 
Sabah boys took the Under-16 doubles (Fong Kua Yoong-Samin Demond Anthony); the Under-14 singles (Andrew Aguwell) and the doubles (Andrew-Elvestly Daniel Edry.
 
Sabah’s Arena Satu Samin, the winner of the first-leg, retained her Under-16 Girls Under-16 singles title. It was double joy for the Sabah girls in the Under-14 category with Goh Shuen Tong winning the singles and the doubles with Melody Wong Jin Ning.
 
The spread was equal for hosts Melaka, Johor and Kuala Lumpur in Zone C.  Melaka won the Boys’ Under-16 doubles and the Under-12 singles and doubles plus the Girls’ Under-12 singles.
 
Johor girls fared better than the boys with the girls taking the Under-14 singles and doubles and the Under-12 doubles while the boys were champions in the boys’ Under-14 doubles.
 
Kuala Lumpur was the champion in boys’ Under-16 (Tan Jia Jie) and Under-14 singles (Ting Wen Xuan) apart from winning the Under-16 singles and doubles in the girls’ category.
