# 2 young footballers to earn chance to train with FC Bayernâs youth coaches
The Allianz Junior Football Camp (AJFC) Malaysia League is back.
The programme opened to aspiring footballers aged between 14 and 16 years old, will once again offer young Malaysian footballers the chance to be part of AJFC in Munich and to train at Säbener Strasse, home to reigning German Champions FC Bayern Munich.
âAt its core, AJFC is about providing opportunities for young footballers aged 14 to 16 to kick-start their dreams. And that is what we have continued to do. With a gap at the grassroots level for a competitive football programme for that age group, we knew AJFC was prime to fill that spot,â said Zakri Khir, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Malaysia Berhad at the programmeâs official launch
âYes, we raised the stakes with the league format, but it is the best way to impart the fundamentals of being a professional footballer to these players. A season of AJFC means five weeks of total football and the players know that they will be exposed to the whole nine yards â the training, the weekly match days, the traveling,â added Zakri.
AJFC Malaysia League features six regions â Central, South, North, East Coast, Sabah, and Sarawak . The competition kicks off on 2 March at Stadium Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi (Central region) and Padang 10, Kompleks Sukan Hang Jebat, Malacca (Southern region).
This will be followed by Northern region (Stadium Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang) and East Coast region (Padang Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan 1 and Kolej Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah in Kuantan, Pahang) on 9 March, and by Sabah (Padang Sukma Kota Kinabalu) and Sarawak (Kompleks Sukan Petrajaya, Kuching) on 16 March.
Each region will feature 16 teams, divided into two groups of eight teams (Group A and B). Teams will play each other in a round-robin format, and each match will be 70 minutes long. Group winners in Group A and B will then play in the regional finals. (Note: For the full schedule, please refer to the appendix)
Following the regional finals, the AJFC Malaysia League selection panel headed by head selector E.Elavarasan, a former coach of Felda United FC, PKNS F.C, and Melaka United, who will pick the best 18 players from each region to form six regional teams to compete in the Grand Finals from 4 to 6 July at the Arena Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ), Subang Jaya.
After the Grand Finals, 10 of the best performing players will be selected to participate in Allianz Explorer Camp â Football Edition in Singapore from 23 to 26 July. There, the players will take part in training drills where the best two Malaysian players will then be selected to be part of Allianz Explorer Camp â Football Edition in Munich, Germany in August.
