The Malaysia national Futsal team did just enough to beat New Caledonia 5-0 in a friendly that was played last night at the Panasonic Sports Stadium.
In what was the team’s first of two friendlies ahead of the AFF HDBank Futsal Championship  2019 next week in Ho Chi Minh City, the Malaysians recovered from a bad outing in China the previous week to score a win.
It took Harith Naim Nasir less than a minute to get on to the scoresheet as Ridzwan Bakri added the second in the third minute before Saiful Nizam Mohd Ali then made it 3-0 at the break with a 12th minute effort.
The Malaysians then completed the win with a brace from Abu Haniffa Hasan off goals in the 21st and 40th minute of play.
The Malaysians will take on New Caledonia again tomorrow night at the same venue.
