German Antoine Hey will make a return as the head coach of the Myanmar national team for a second stint.
This was confirmed by the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) this week.
And while further information is sketchy, it is believed that the change in national coach was in response to the 7-0 defeat the Myanmar national team suffered to Kyrgyzstan on the third match day of the second round qualifiers of the 2022 FIFA World Cup earlier this month.
Hey, who will have Ky Lwin as his assistant, is expected to arrive in Yangon this week to finalise details of his new contract.
The German tactician had first served as Myanmar’s national coach in mid-2018 but left after the AFF Suzuki Cup the same year.
His position was then taken over by Miodraq Radulovic.
