Australia cruised to their second win in Group A of the Second Round qualifiers for the Olympic Games 2024 when they crushed the Philippines 8-0 as Vietnam picked up their first win in Group C.

In Group A, a hat-trick each from Sam Kerr (19th, 45thand 46th minute) and Caitlin Foord (30th, 33rd and 56th minute) puts Australia well on the way as Mary Fowler (15th minute) and Clare Wheeler (72nd minute) scored the other goals for the rout.

In Group C, Vietnam bounced back for their first win in the qualifiers when they beat India 3-1.

Captain Huynh Nhu nodded home the lead in the fourth minute as Tran Thi Hai Linh then doubled Vietnam’s advantage in the 22nd minute.

Pham Hai Yen then made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute before India pulled a goal back through Sandhiya Ranganathan ten minutes to the end.

In Group B, Thailand succumbed to their third defeat in the qualifiers with a 3-0 loss to host China.

Only the three group winners and the best-ranked runners-up will advance to the Third Round qualifiers.
