Letshanaa admits that she needs to work on her mental game after being shown the exit in the quarterfinals of theBERGAMOT KL Masters Malaysia Super 100 2023 earlier this evening at the Titiwangsa Stadium.
The sixth-seeded Letshanaa could not muster enough in her quarterfinal clash against Kim Joo-eun from South Korea when she conceded a 13-21, 21-16, 12-21 loss.
“It is fair that she won and I lost. In the rubber set, I lost focussed as I was a little tired,” said Letshanaa, who rejoined the national set-up earlier this year.
“I gave her a lot of points and that was the turning point in the third set.
“It is the mental game that was lacking. I did not start as well as I should. By then, it was already a little too late to recover.
“This is a very big lesson which I need to learn. I have to do better to go to the next level.”
The 20-year-old Letshanaa cruised through the first round when she went through Egypt’s Nour Ahmed Youssri 21-7, 21-13 in just over 20 minutes.
In the second round, Letshanaa overcame Hung Yi-Ting from Chinese Taipei 21-14, 21-18.
