Bima Sakti, the head coach of the Indonesia Under-17 national team, believes that the daily night training in the run-up to the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023 is important.
The team has been training at night at the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium since their arrival in Surabaya this week.
“We deliberately took (the training time) at night, because when we start our campaign against Ecuador on Friday, we will be playing at night. Therefore, we also took to training at night to adapt to the weather here,” said Bima.
Host Indonesia will open their campaign in the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023 against Ecuador on 10 November 2023 at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya.
After the Ecuador game on 10 November 2023, Indonesia will take on Panama (on 13 November 2023) and then Morocco (on 16 November 2023).
“The players are getting used to the quite hot weather conditions in Surabaya and its surroundings,” he added.
