Sydney FC from Australia were denied a place in the final of the AFC Women’s Club Championship™ 2023 when they fell to a 3-0 loss to Korea Republic’s Hyundai Red Angels FC last night.

Needing just a draw to make the cut, Sydney FC fell a little short against a well organised Hyundai Red Angels in their final Group B encounter in Tashkent.

After a cautious start, Tia N’Rehy made good on the through ball from Jang Chang to give Hyundai Red Angels the lead just before the break.

In the 54th minute, Hong Hye-ji then doubled the advantage as Kim Hye-ri finished things off in the 70th minute with a stinger to the top corner of the Sydney FC box.

With the win, Hyundai Red Angels will take on Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies who confirmed their win of Group A with an emphatic 6-0 win over Hualien Women’s Football Team of Chinese Taipei in Chonburi.
