Vietnam and India played out a 1-1 draw in the friendly that was played last night at the Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh.

Vietnam head coach Kim Sang-sik was using the match to polish the team ahead of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup at the end of the year.

After numerous chances and also a missed penalty, Vietnam finally found the space to score in the 38th minute with Vi Hao making good on a corner kick.

However, India pressed on into the second half and in the 53rd minute, Farukh Haji found the equaliser to put both teams back on level.

“I was quite satisfied with the first half. Even though we conceded a goal in the second half, the players still played hard until the last minute,” said Vietnam head coach Kim Sang-sik.

“We are still considering many things for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup. We will make appropriate adjustments, whether it is to play with three defenders or four defenders.”
