Championship Standings
Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) leads the WorldWCR standings with 208 points as the series heads into its decisive round at Jerez. Close behind her is Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team), trailing by just 18 points, with 190 to her name. Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) is third, 42 points adrift of Carrasco with 166 points, and is mathematically still in contention for the title. Carrasco will win the title in Race 1 if she scores 8 points more than Herrera and loses 17 points or fewer to Sanchez.
Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha) and Roberta Ponziani (Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team) round out the top five, with 136 and 109 points, respectively.
Performance Insights
Ana Carrasco and Sara Sanchez both claimed victories in the last round at Estoril, while Beatriz Neila returned to the podium in Race 1. The Spanish riders will be eager to leverage their experience at Jerez, a circuit they all know well.
Carrasco is no stranger to the Spanish track, having secured several podiums there during her time in WorldSSP300, though a victory has eluded her so far. Herrera also have a long history with Jerez, having raced at the iconic circuit many times and won a race there during the 2014 Spanish Championship. Sanchez, fresh from her recent success in Estoril, will aim to replicate her winning form at Jerez, a track where she also has prior experience. Neila, who raced at Jerez in WorldSSP300 in 2019, is keen to build on her Estoril podium and push for another strong finish. Pakita Ruiz (PS Racing Team 46+1), who has finished sixth in the last five consecutive races, will be looking to break into the top five, while Andrea Sibaja (Deza – Box 77 Racing Team), who raced at Jerez in WorldSSP300 in 2022, will be hoping for a strong home performance as the Cordoba-born rider returns to a familiar circuit.
Several other riders, including Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsport), Emily Bondi (YART Zelos Black Knights Team), and Jessica Howden (Team Trasimeno), have also participated in track days at Jerez, adding to the field’s collective knowledge of the circuit as the season draws to a close.
