With a total of 17 goals, MIC FC of Myanmar and East Coast Heat FC of Australia set the pace in Group A of the AFF Futsal Club Championship which started today at GOR UNY in Jogjakarta.
MIC – who finished third in 2015 and 2016 – were the first off the block when they thrashed newcomer Arbisyam FC of Brunei DS 9-0 as East Coast Heat FC overwhelmed another debutant UYFC Komchaymear 8-0.
International Pyae Phyo Maung grabbed a hat-trick off goals in the 16th, 30th and 30th minute for MIC.
Khin Zaw Linn found the back of the net twice in the 3rd and 17th minute with the other goals being scored by Kyaw Soe Moe in the seventh minute, Aung Thu (34th), Hein Min Soe (37th) and Hlaing Min Tun (39th).
On the other hand, East Coast Heat FC relied on several stalwarts like Jordan Guerreiro and Matthew Mazevski to drive them through UYFC 8-0 for their first in the group.
Daniel Fornito was on target four times in the third, fourth, 10th and 17th minute to be followed by goals from Mazevski (15th) Anthony Haddad (23d), Nestor Guzman (31st) and Guerreiro (33rd).
