Malaysian driver Nabil Jeffri’s momentum in the 2014 ATS Formula 3 Cup continues as he takes another podium finish in Round 2 held at the 3.442km Lausitzring circuit last weekend.
The race flagged off about a considerable shake-up in the formation lap which saw Briton Sam MacLeod and Dutchman Indy Dontje having to start the race from the back of the field. This gave pole-sitter, Markus Pommer, a clear run to the lead.
Behind him, Nabil successfully challenged Russian driver Nikita Zlobin for second place. Pommer completed the race with a confident win even as Nabil scored his second podium of the season ahead of MacLeod.
“The weekend did not work out well for me, but now I am very happy to be on the podium. Thanks to my team and my sponsors! I know I could have done better but we have to look forward now. I want to win at the Red Bull Ring,” said Nabil who currently ranks fourth with a total of 61 points.
