Malaysian left back La’Vere Corbin-Ong has rallied the troops to gun down the next three full points in their second game of Group D of the second round qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Malaysia will take on Chinese Taipei tomorrow in Taipei City after disposing Kyrgyz Republic 4-3 in their opening group game a few days earlier in Kuala Lumpur.

“I think the team knows anything less than three points will be a letdown. Especially knowing the quality of our team, we believe that (beating Chinese Taipei) is achievable,” said Corbin.

“That is not to say that Chinese Taipei are not a strong team, but we are going in with a better team to take the three points back to Malaysia. We need to keep up with the good work that we have put in at the last match.”

However, Malaysia’s record in Taipei City has not been favourable where in their last two meetings; Chinese Taipei had managed to win both matches at home.
