# ‘I am happy to return and play for JDT again’ – Diaz
Argentine scoring machine Jorge Pereyra Diaz has sounded an early warning that he wants to win the Golden Boot again in the Malaysian Super League – the award he won with Johor Darul Takzim in 2016 with 18 goals.
Back with the Southern Tigers for the 2018 season after a year’s absence, Diaz has vowed to light up the M-League together with compatriot Luciano Figueroa. Figeuroa scored 11 goals in 2014 and 12 in 2015.
“I am very happy to return to play for JDT…it is a club I love very much and comfortable with,” said the Argentine who also gave the thumbs up to JDT’s Portuguese coach Ulisses Morais who took the team to their fourth Super League title this year.
“Morais is a coach with a positive attitude and is always willing to guide when it comes to tactics. JDT will be stronger next year and we will work hard to defend the league title and also win more titles.”
In the same breath Diaz was quick to point out that next season “will be tough as all teams are prepared with better tactics and playing styles” with many bringing in new players to beef up their respective teams.
JDT are the best football team in the country with a record breaking four Super League titles in a row from 2014. The Johor outfit have also added the prestigious and much sought after Malaysia Cup to their collection this year.
The Southern Tigers have also brought on board a Brazilian defender Bruno Gabriel Soares to beef up their backline in case another Brazilian – the long serving Marcos Antonio does not fully recover from his left knee ACL injury which kayoed him in July.
Also making a return to the team after a year’s absence is Singapore international – midfielder Hariss Harun who described his return as “excited to be back” after playing for Home United (in the Singapore League) for eight months this year.
“We have players of calibre and experience to mount a serious challenge for more titles next season. We are aware that as four-time Super League champions JDT will face a bigger challenge in 2018,” said the Singaporean.
