Auni Fatihin Azuan has made a winning habit in the Allianz Junior Badminton Championships where she has now made it to the Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur for the third year in a row.

The 14-year-old from SMK Kangkar Pulai in Johor Baru was once again in mercurial form in Melaka for the ninth round of the AJBC2024.

Alongside How Yin Xuan from HLCE HOEP Recourses Centre, Auni Fatihin overcame Leong Hwee Ling (STARS International School)-Lim Yew Ern (SMK Yu Hua Kajang) in the final of the Girls’ Under-15 Dubles.

It took Auni Fatihin-Yin Xuan just about half an hour to book their place in the Grand Finals with a clinical 21-18, 21-19 win.

The win cemented Auni Fatihin’s passage to the Grand Finals where she has made a habit of winning the Girls’ U13 Doubles crown for two years in a row.

In 2022, Auni with Low Zi Yu (SJKC Li Chi) beat Teoh Sue Mei (SMJK Chong Hwa Gombak)-Wong Au Mel (SMK Bukit Jalil) for the title while last year they repeated the feat yet again.

However, Auni Fatihin’s hope for success in the Girls’ U15 Singles fell short when she was denied by Sue Mei in the semifinals 21-10, 16-21, 21-19 in a duel that lasted for close to an hour.
