Idham Pawi, Moto2 test Feb, Jerez 2019

#PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider shaves almost a second off his best lap time from opening day at Jerez – Angel Nieto Circuit.

Despite the strong winds that Khairul Idham Pawi was forced to contend with on the second day of official preseason test at the Jerez – Angel Nieto Circuit today, the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider was able to continue making big steps forward with the set-up of his new Moto2 machine.

The Malaysian rider enjoyed a productive day on track today, improving his best effort from yesterday by 0.7 seconds on his final run of the afternoon.

Pawi and his crew spent today gathering interesting feedback after carrying out a number of tests on his Moto2 bike.

The setting they found for his final outing gave the Malaysian improved feeling and more speed, allowing the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider to clock a best effort of 1’42.729 after a total of 69 laps, leaving him 21st on the timesheets.

Tomorrow will see the final day of preseason testing at the Jerez – Angel Nieto Circuit before a further and final three-day test commences next Friday at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.

“Today has been a good day. We have moved forward with the set-up and at the end of the day on my final run I was able to improve the lap time, so I am really happy with the developments we have made. The team and I are all working very hard and we will continue to do so tomorrow on the final day of the test.” said Khairul
