Lao Premier League frontrunners Lao Toyota FC and Young Elephants FC scored big wins in the preliminary round of the Commando LFF Cup 2019 as they booked their places in the quarter-finals of the championship in style.
Placed in contrasting half, Lao Toyota blasted a hapless Viengchanh FC 9-0 as Young Elephants whipped Army FC 3-0.
Elsewhere, Evo United edged Nuol FC, Police FC beat Master 7 FC 2-1 and Quest United beat Vientiane FT 5-4.
It was a hard fought battle for Vientiane Capital FC before they were able to beat Bears Laos FC 4-2 in the penalty shootouts after the match was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation.
In the quarter finals, Police FC will take on Quest United while Lao Toyota will take on KPS FC, who received a bye in the preliminary round.
In the other half, Young Elephants FC will do battle against Vientiane Capital FC and Evo United up against Trinity FC – another team who skipped the preliminary round – completing the fixtures.
