AS expected, Thailand, a powerhouse in boccia in the ASEAN Para Games, proved their mettle by routing their every opposition at MITEC on Monday (Sept 18).
A dominant force, the Thais crushed Philippines 25-0, downed Malaysia 6-2 and pulverised Singapore 18-0 in the BC1 (players in this class throw the ball with the hand or foot, may compete with an assistant) and BC2 category (players throw ball with hand and not eligible for assistant).
However, in the BC3 event (players with severe locomotor dysfunction and may use a ramp to deliver the ball), Thailand triumphed 6-1 and 4-1 against Malaysia and Singapore respectively.
They continued their prowess in the BC4 category (players with a severe locomotor dyfunction as well as poor trunk control) by scoring an 11-0 win over the Malaysians.
