Former Paris Saint-Germain assistant director general Frederic Longuepee was elected president of Ligue 1 side Bordeaux on Sunday, the club’s new owners announced.
Bordeaux have been taken over by American investment fund GACP (General American Capital Partners), who announced Longuepee’s appointment following a “thorough and intensive” process.
Longuepee, a former top level gymnast who is currently the marketing chief for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, succeeds Stephane Martin, who led the club during its ownership by the M6 media company.
GACP president Joseph DaGrosa hailed Longuepee as the “man of the moment”, underlining the 52-year-old’s “instinct, talent and long experience in the world of sport and football.”
