Brazil is set to welcome back a round of the world MotoGP championship in 2021, promoters announced Friday, although the proposed track in Rio has yet to be constructed.
Dorna, the promoters of the series, have signed an agreement with the Rio Motorsports company which would see MotoGP return to the country after its most recent spell from 1995-2004.
Back then, the race was staged at the Autodromo Internacional Nelson Piquet, better known as “Jacarepagua” which was razed in 2012 to be replaced by the 2016 Rio Olympics main park. – Agence France-Presse
