A second-half rally saw Brazil’s Carlos Barbosa pummelling Club Atletico Los Angeles Futsal from Equatorial Guinea 5-0 in the World Intercontinental Futsal Cup Thailand 2018 this evening.
The Brazilian powerhouse was expected to run rings round their lesser known opponents but Club Atletico put up some brave resistance to hold them to a scoreless draw in the first half.
But Carlos Barbosa then turned on the samba soon after the restart to slot in five quick goals for the win.
“Our game could have been better. As a team, we have a lot more to offer, but this is normal because this is the first game. The first game always brings tension and pressure,” said Carlos Barbosa head coach Marquinhos Xavier.
“Two games in two days meant that our legs gave way into the second half. Carlos Barbosa played a lot more direct in the second half. But I am pleased with my team’s effort today,” said Atletico Los Angeles Futsal head coach Ricardo Iñguez.
Carlos Barbosa’s next match will be against homesters PTT Bluewave Chonburi on Wednesday, 29 August 2018.
