Eight-time champions cruised into the semi-finals to stay on course for their ninth Badminton Asia Junior Championships Mixed Team title after strolling past Singapore 3-0 in the quarter-finals at the Suzhou Olympics Sports Centre in Suzhou, China on Monday.
 
In the semi-finals later today (4 pm) the mighty Chinese will face Thailand who had to go the full distance before they could subdue last year’s runners-up Japan 3-2. 
Top seeds Indonesia will take on Korea, the 2017 champions. Indonesia strolled to a 3-0 win over fifth seeds India while the Koreans snuffed out Singapore by a similar margin.

“We may be the defending champions but winning the title for the ninth time is left to be seen. Every match is difficult,” China coach Wang Wei.
“Playing China is never easy. We had to play five tough matches against Japan and will be the least rested team. After coming this far we will do our best against China,” Thailand coach Udom Luangphetcharaporn.   
“So far so good. I am pleased with the team’s overall performance but much will depend on well we do in the singles if the tie is decided over five matches,” Kim Hak Yun, Korea coach.
