# Morten Frost believes Chong Wei will regain his confidence
Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) technical director Morten Frost is one confident man when it comes to former World No 1 and Malaysia’s ace badminton player Datuk Lee Chong Wei.
The Dane is not too worried that Chong Wei has suffered a couple earlier defeats in the superseries – including a shock defeat in the first match of the qualifying round in Korean Open where he lost to former world junior champion Heo Kwang-hee.
It came in the wake of his second round exit in the Yonex Japan Open where he failed to retain his title. It was his first superseries event after making a return to competitive badminton from an eight-month ban for alleged doping scandal.
In last week’s Denmark Open in Odense the Malaysian was shown the exit in the second round by Hong Kong’s Wei Nan. He lost 18-21, 19-21 after beating India’s P. Kashyap in the first round.
Chong Wei’s next stop is Paris where he will meet local ace and home favourite Brice Leverdez in the first round in the USD275,000 French Open which begins on Tuesday.
“I am very confident Chong Wei will not only qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics but you will see an improvement in his game. He may not have done well in the last few tournaments but it is only temporary,” said the Dane.
