Singles ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei and doubles players, Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong have been rested for the second Badminton Asia Team Championship group match against Myanmar this evening.
Chong Wei, who won his game yesterday, and the doubles duo will be watching the group tie from the sidelines. Taking over as the first singles player is Lee Zii Jia. Soong Joo Ven and Iskandar Zulkarnain will play in the next two singles ties.
In the doubles, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi will go down first followed by Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin.
The top Malaysian players names were missing from the start list issued by the organisers ahead of this evening’s matches.
The Malaysians should easily get past this match today. Their crucial game will be tomorrow against Chinese Taipei which the Malaysians must win if they hope to advance to the next stage.
