National youth bowler Daniel Tan Yan Han finally landed his elusive individual gold medal in Sukma when he won the men’s singles title at the Perlis Bowl in Kangar.
The 21-year-old Miri lad took the gold medal with 1,337 pinfalls over six games with Malacca’s Ahmad Aidil Halim taking the silver with a 1,321 total while Johor’s Syed Muhammad Hafiz totalled 1,315 for his bronze.
“This is one gold medal I wanted to win very much for many reasons. It is my final Sukma and my last chance to win an individual gold,” said Daniel.
“More importantly, I hope that my performance has caught the eye of the national selectors for a place in the national team to the Asian Youth Championships in Hong Kong in August.”
