THE 11th Asia Cup Women Softball championship will be hosted by Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno’s Softball Stadium starting on Wednesday,
This is the fourth time Indonesia will be playing host, having hosted in 1972, 1991 and 2007.
A total of ten teams will be competing in the competition which starts on Wednesday and end on May 8.
Japan, six times winners and defending champions who had won in four times consecutive times, have been drawn in Group A together with China – three times consecutive champions in 1987, 1991 and 1995 –, Korea, India and Thailand.
In Group B are Philippines, champions in 1972 and last year’s losing finalist to Japan, four times runners-up Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, host Indonesia and Singapore.
The team managers will be held on the eve of the start of the competition (30th April) at the Century Park Hotel where teams will be staying.
