It will be a most exciting weekend for Zen Low and Fairuz Fauzy as they head for their first GT Asia Series outing during the season opener at Korea International Circuit.
The duo departed Kuala Lumpur late Monday evening to compete this weekend in a Lamborghini Gallardo FLII with team OD Racing.Â
Zen is eager yet anxious to see how far he has progressed after his accident, fracturing his left ankle early this February.
A stint of physiotherapy and some really hard workout sessions with his trainer allowed Zen to get into a kart for a little fun training in March, but it showed him that he needed more time. Now, this weekend will be a true test for him in the hour long race which he will share with Fairuz.
“I am quite excited going into the race weekend after all the hard work with my trainer, so I’m sure it will be a good weekend.
“The Series itself will be something interesting to race in. Such a competitive line-up so far and I am glad to have Fairuz to fight the battles with me but it will be my first time at the Korean circuit and with the packed grid, it will be a competitive outing for sure” said Zen before leaving for Korea.
This will be Fairuz’s first full GT series season after competing in single seater cars throughout his career, becoming a test and reserve driver for three Formula 1 teams.
The 32-year old Malaysian has come a long way from his childhood dreams of racing and is a great asset to the team, transitioning from open wheel to closed cockpit with great ease.
“This will be an interesting weekend, that’s for sure. My first stint in the GT Asia Series and I am definitely looking forward to it. It’s a very interesting mix of drivers in the Series and an interesting variety of supercars competing against one another, I am motivated to do a great job and push as hard as we can to be at the front” said Fairuz.

In 2015 Aylezo Competizione acts as the Technical Partner for a newly established team, OD Racing, in their first participation in the GT Asia Series.
