MUHD Ezuan Nasir Khan and Bibiana Ng Pei Chin each won gold and bronze medals on the fourth day of the shooting competition at the National Shooting Range in Subang Thursday (August 24th).
Muhd Ezuan won gold men’s 50m rifle prone with a new SEA Games record. He gained 242.8 points to erase the old record of 206.3 points by Supalerk Wijan of Thailand in 2015.
Jun Hong Ong of Singapore won the silver with 239.5 points while the bronze to Kaung Htike of Myanmar (220.2 points).
Bibiana, gained bronze women’s 10m air pistol after recording 212 points. Poe Wah May from Myanmar won the gold won (234.4 points), while Lee Thi Linh (Vietnam) silver (232.2 points).
“This is a milestone because I have not won medals in individual events at the Games after Laos or Myanmar,” said Bibiana competing in the SEA Games in the ninth.
A Malaysian shooter, Joseline Cheah Lee Yean, came in fourth out of eight shooters.
Nur Suryani Taibi failed to shine in the women’s 50m rifle prone with only ranked eighth out of nine competing with 601.7 points.
The event was won by defending champion Ratchadaporn Plengsaengthong of Thailand (619.8 points), followed by compatriot Supamas Wankaew (617.7 points) and Amparo Teresa Acuna from the Philippines bronze (612.9 points).
Two more gold medals up for grabs on the fifth day of competition Friday (August 25), the women’s 10m air rifle and 50m rifle three positions men.
