Bangkok FC from Thailand and Sydney FC from Australia picked up the full points in their opening matches in their respective group of the AFC Women’s Club Championship™ 2023.
In Group A, Bangkok FC scored a 2-0 win over Hualien Women’s Football Team of Chinese Taipei while in Group B, Sydney FC defeated Bam Khatoon FC of Iran 3-0.
In Chonburi, Bangkok FC made full use of home advantage to score twice through captain Kwandarin Ngoenchalongnoppakorn in the 14th minute and Kanyanat Chetthabutr in the 70th minute for the win.
In the other match of the group, Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies of Japan crushed Sree Gokulam Kerala FC of India 8-0..
Bangkok FC will next play Urawa on Thursday while Hualien will play Sree Gokulam.
In Tashkent, Sydney FC picked up the full points against Bam Khatoon with goals from Fiona Worts (first and 59th minute) and Aideen Keen (42nd minute).
In the other match of the group, Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC of South Korea beat FC Nasaf of Uzbekistan 2-0.
On Thursday, Sydney FC will next take on FC Nasaf while Bam Khatoon will play Hyundai Steel.
