The FA of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil as the venue for Malaysia’s first match in Group D of the second round qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Malaysia will open their campaign against Kyrgyzstan on 16 November 2023.
The decision was made after an inspection that was attended by FAM President, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin; Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Hannah Yeoh; Chairman of the Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM), Dato’ Hans Isaac and national head coach, Kim Pan-gon.
The PSM, through the views and advice of their technical consultants and contractors, has stated that the field is now in a better condition than during the Merdeka Tournament last month and is ready for use on 16 November 2023.
After the match against Kyrgyzstan, the Malaysians will then take on Chinese Taipei in Taipei City for their second match of Group D on 21 November 2023.
