The FA of Thailand (FAT) have announced a new duo to handle the Thai national women’s football team ahead of the AFF Women’s Championship next month.

The pair are Sirima Panichcheewa from Thai League 1 outfit Samut Prakan City, and new coach Naruepon Kaenson, who had guided Thailand to the AFF U15 Girls’ crown earlier this year.

The pair replaced long serving team manager Nualphan Lamsam and head coach Nuengrutai Srathongvian who resigned after the team crashed out of the group stage of the FA World Cup 2019 in France.

“I’m honoured to be named the director of Thailand’s women’s football team,” said Sirima. “I’d like to thank Thai FA president Somyot Poompanmoung for his trust in me. I will put all efforts to carry on the work of the national women’s football team.”

And Chonburi will be a welcome return to Naruepon where he wil once again be at the helm of the Thailand women’s side for the AFF Women’s Championship on 15-27 August 2019.

Thailand are in Group A against Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Timor Leste.

Group B are Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia.
