Akademi Bolasepak Felda were crowned Central Region champions of the Allianz Junior Football Camp (AJFC) Malaysia League2017 Regional Finals after beating Akademi PKNS F.C. 1-0 at Arena MPSJ Subang Jaya yesterday.
Muhammad Farid Aiman Annuar Amri’s strike in the 22nd minute in the first half was eanough to seal the title for Akademi Bolasepak Felda.
Meanwhile, CIMB-YFA Bintang Muda thrashed Akademi Bolasepak MBPJ 6-3 to finish third and fourth respectively.
“We have been training very hard since January and I don’t have to tell the boys to practice. They do it on their own because they want to give their best. In the last week, we also trained at night in astro turf fields to prepare for today’s match and that is why the boys were well prepared and played very skillfully. Winning this match will boost their confidence and I am extremely proud of them,” said Nazim Din, head coach of Akademi Bolasepak Felda.
The AJFC Malaysia League offers aspiring Malaysian footballers aged 14 to 16 the opportunity to train with record 26-time German Champions FC Bayern Munich in Munich, Germany.
This year, the six-week league competition was played across five regions, culminating with the respective regional finals in Southern (7 May), Northern (10 May), East Coast (13 May), Central (14 May) and East Malaysia (20 May). Â
The top 18 players from each region will be selected to represent their region in the Regional Finals at Stadium Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang on 13 to 15 July 2017. Following the Regional Finals, the best 13 players will be selected for AJFC Asia Camp in Bali, Indonesia 1-4 August 2017. At Asia Camp, the best three Malaysian players will be selected to attend AJFC in Munich, Germany from 17-22 August 2017.
AJFC Malaysia debuted in 2012 with the Asia Camp introduced in 2014. Malaysia’s participation at AJFC in Munich, Germany has steadily grown from two entrants in 2012 to five entrants including a set of twins who were wildcard winners from the Asia Camp in Bali, Indonesia.
