Zaw Zaw the President of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) was overcome with emotions shortly after being awarded with the ASEAN Goodwill Award at the AFF Football Awards 2017 that was held at the stunning Sofitel Hotels & Resort.
The ASEAN Goodwill Award is bestowed biennially to an individual for outstanding acts or gestures on or off the pitch towards the Asean Football Federation.
Other than being a consistent supporter of AFF activities throughout the year, Zaw Zaw also does scores of philanthropic work.
“Football is our soul. It is our family and health,” said Zaw Zaw. “We need to work together for the ASEAN family. We cannot be successful if we do not work together.
“Beyond the sport itself, we can also do so many things. I have been in football for the past twelve years and I really appreciate all the hard work which have been put in by the ASEAN family.”
In the meantime Dr Tran Quoc Tuan, the vice president of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was full of our pride after receiving the award on behalf of the VFF for the Best Member Association.
The VFF are also an earnest supporter of AFF activities.
The award is given to a Member Association in recognition of its exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of the game within their country particularly in the areas of (but not limited to) FIFA Ranking – most improved position.
Also hosting activities organised for AFF (Competitions, Meetings, Courses, etc) and professionalism of administration and governance of Member Association and Development Activities organised by the MA at the AFF, AFC and FIFA Levels.
“I would like to thank my sisters and brothers in the ASEAN football family for this recognition,” said Quoc Tuan.
“We are very proud for this award and we will continue to do our best for ASEAN football.”
